The future of commerce is e-commerce. As an aspirational, built-for-the-internet furniture brand, we value our website as much as our quality product offerings. We’re looking for an experienced Frontend Developer who’s team-oriented and passionate about innovating on e-commerce.

Responsibilities

We are a small team that enjoys a collaborative work environment. While in our Detroit HQ, be expecting to be in conversations ranging from web design, marketing, to customer experience that will all guide the direction of your development roadmap. More specifically, your responsibilities will be primarily the following:

  • Actively contribute to our codebases (and beyond)
  • Work closely with our remote development team
  • Work closely with our Web Designer to ensure interactions, animations, and styles are translated thoroughly to the web experience
  • Attention to detail to ensure every release meets brand quality standards
  • Be comfortable deploying to staging and production multiple times a day
  • Communicate website updates across the Floyd Team
  • Prototype frontend features to prove concepts
  • Know what works well and what doesn’t work well for frontend experiences
  • Attention to detail to ensure every release meets brand quality standards
  • QA protocols for frontend bug-fixing
  • Write meaningful code that is easy to maintain
  • Use A/B testing, user testing, and site analytics to communicate the impact of frontend features
  • Write comprehensive unit tests to make sure the functionality of website does not break

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of web development skills (expertise in Ruby on Rails is preferred)
  • A fan of test-driven development
  • Experience with e-commerce is a plus
  • Experience with JavaScript and frontend frameworks
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Highly ambitious but know when to ask for help
